What is Check 21?  Official name is the Check Clearing for the Twenty-First Century Act.  (Effective Date October 28, 2004)
What does Check 21 do?  It creates a new kind of "Paper Copy" of an Electronic Image of a check, called a "Substitute check".
How will it effect us as members of the Canton Police & Firemen's Credit Union? The only effect our members will see is          faster clearing of the checks our members write, reducing float times.  Make sure that the checks you write do not leave your               possession before there are funds on deposit to cover them or you may experience a NSF condition with NSF Fees.
The other effects of Check 21, our credit union already follows so the impact of this new regulation will not impact our members             at all.  If you have further questions please contact our office.
